As the end of the school year approaches, so do some exciting summer ministry opportunities. Summer is always a great time to build relationships with students as we have more time with them. This summer Capital District Youth for Christ staff and volunteers will be spending time with kids with the purpose of sharing the Gospel through authentic relationships.
Our summer will be packed with trips and events all designed with the purpose of reaching kids. Some of our summer events include week long day camps at our Adventure Center, a high school trip to Wild Wood, New Jersey, a week long middle school camp in New Hampshire as well as several outdoor adventure trips that offer canoeing, backpacking and rock climbing opportunities in the Adirondacks. Through these experiences, we will be sharing with kids the life changing hope of Jesus Christ.
As this summer approaches, we are beginning a campaign to help us raise the money needed to do these activities. We as a YFC team are excited to present the Summer Launch Campaign. As a team we are trying to raise $50,000 towards these activities. This will help cover the cost of programing, staffing and scholarships. My personal goal for this campaign is $5,000. Although summer presents us with the greatest amount of ministry time with kids, it’s also my most challenging time of the year to meet my fundraising goals.
This March we asked a room full of middle school students at our Break Out conference to give towards this campaign. We were so encouraged when we collected $1300 towards that goal. Middle school students had their hearts stirred to invest in the lives of kids who don’t know Jesus. Would you think about joining us?
