I was born with a rare brain disorder ( Spinocerabellular Ataxia v 14 or SCA v 14 for short), only seen in the Japanese in research, that is progresive and leads to issues in the entire body. I have been dismissed from another medical practice for my needs being too complicated. This makes 5 times this has happened in the state of Nebraska, 8 times in my life. I asked for a referral and admittance to a complex medical department at a local hospital or a referral to Mayo Clinic or Cleveland Clinic. That's when they let me go.
Then I found out my surgery I've been waiting for that has been rescheduled multiple times in which I've jumped through every hoop won't take place until this summer after I possibly lose my medicaid March 31.
They want me to sign an advanced directives and go into a nursing home where they can stop treating me. My mom died at 48 from this and metastatic breast cancer. I DON'T have Cancer and I don't have the gene associated with the kind she had, PRAISE the LORD!
I'm a volunteer minister with a heart healing ministry. I have advanced degrees in behavioral health, school counseling and special and elementary Ed. I was given a motorized wheelchair by the ministry I volunteer with but it does not work and I can't afford to repair it. My insurance will provide one if the home in which I'm staying as an urban missionary is wheelchair accessible. It is not currently wheelchair accessible, however the landlord will allow it to be made this way if I can pay for it and be added to the lease. I was also asked to marry the person who has allowed me to stay in his home when I've not had another option. Abba's ways are higher! Bryan also has multiple health needs and we have supported each other's healthy goals.
We have also been working on starting a ministry/blog to help others who have been down the roads of rare medical issues, and dealing with the rejection and abuse, divorce or abandonment issues in marriage due to the rare medical issues as well as the grief that comes from not having a " normal" life.
I was offered a job for the fall in special education where a wheelchair would be fine but I must have the surgeries and recover first. I had my own place, a career I loved, all the furniture and a car I needed paid off entirely until March 2022 when I was laid off because both my daughter and I became ill from the mold in our apartment. It affected our neurological conditions, her allergies, and my asthma. She now lives with her dad. My car was also broken into and damaged multiple times and my insurance company denied my claims because the police misunderstood me with my disability. These are American with Disabilities Act issues and discrimination.
I need to hire a lawyer to deal with the insurance companies and rental companies that denied my care and put my child's and my life in danger and reunite mother and child. I'd also like to be able to have a second opinion at Cleveland or mayo clinic and get really well. My life's not over at 46.
