St Andrew's Church, Essaouira

I intend to restore, rebuild the former Portuguese Church in Essaouira, Morocco. Without our intervention, it is earmarked to be a multifaith venue. I have visited the site three times over several years, the last time was in October 2025.

I believe that the 200-year-old former Portuguese Church, should be restored as a cross-denomination Protestant Church.

It will not only be a place of worship, but part of it will be a workshop for business training and apprenticeship projects, in order to tackle the 37.2 % youth unemployment rate.

I envisage that it will predominantly be used as a place of worship for English-speaking expats and tourists. In addition, I intend to renovate the accommodation annexes to provide a haven, a place for respite for folk from our local churches in Harold Hill and beyond.

In addition, I am in talks with investors to build a sterile facility to produce MediMoroc wound dressings. The gauze will be infused with Daghmous honey; unique to Morocco.

The honey is bespoke and clinically proven to kill microbial and speed up the healing process. We will be the only company in the world that produces a wound dressing infused with Daghmous honey.

Once MediMoroc wound dressings are ready for production, we will be able to secure deals with the NHS, Ministry of Defence (UK), Moroccan, French, German equivalents. Ultimately we will be able to supply globally.

Basically, my dream is not just to provide training, but offer gainful employment to tackle the 37.2% youth unemployment rate.

All donors will be more than welcome to come out and stay for free, regardless of the amount donated.

The money will be used to revisit, in order to inspect the dilapidated state of the property and secure a future deal with a Daghmous honey producer. I also need to have a meeting with Yossef Ben-Meir, President of the High Atlas Foundation.

Please pray that I will be able to garner the support of King Mohammed VI, himself a successful businessman. I will be hand delivering a letter for him at the Embassy of Morocco, London.
